HOW TO APPLY FOR EWC VACANCIES

The application process is similar for all four posts:

1. Complete the new Z83 form (Application for Employment). It must be the version effective from 1 January 2021, because applications on the old form are disqualified. You can get it from the "Apply Now" button on the EWC vacancies page or from any Public Service Department. Read our guide on how to fill in the Z83 form if you need help.
2. Prepare a comprehensive CV with three contactable references and their email addresses.
3. Add any documents your post asks for. Check the advert carefully, because the Management Assistant post wants certified copies upfront while the others only ask shortlisted candidates for them.
4. Email everything as one PDF to the email address for your post, or hand deliver or courier it to the campus address.
5. Mark your application with the correct post title and reference number.

Shortlisted candidates go through vetting, which covers citizenship, criminal record checks, verification of qualifications, and social media and credit checks. Only shortlisted candidates are contacted. If you hear nothing within 60 days of the closing date (90 days for the Library Internship), treat your application as unsuccessful. The college can withdraw any position at any time, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

TIPS FOR A STRONGER APPLICATION

- Apply as early as you can, especially for the posts closing on 6 November. Email can be delayed, and the IT Trainee deadline is 13h00.
- Use a separate Z83 form for each post, with the correct reference number.
- Make sure your name on the form matches your ID and qualifications.
- Choose referees who will answer their phones, and tell them to expect a call.
- Check whether the advert wants certified copies now or only if you are shortlisted, so you do not waste money or miss a requirement.
- If you need a CV, you can build one for free on BEmployed and download it as a PDF or Word document.
